About the position

The SQL Developer position at NTT DATA in Irving, Texas, is a full-time role focused on database development and management. The successful candidate will work with large data sources and be responsible for creating and modifying database structures, optimizing performance, and ensuring data integrity. This role requires a strong background in SQL Server and experience with various data technologies, making it essential for candidates to have a comprehensive understanding of database design and data manipulation techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify tables, views, functions, and triggers.
  • Develop stored procedures using dynamic SQL.
  • Import/Export data to/from SQL databases.
  • Work with extremely large data sources (20+GB daily flat files) from multiple platforms such as mainframe, SQL Server, Oracle, and Teradata.

Requirements

  • Minimum seven years' experience with RDBMS Database Development - Microsoft SQL Server v2016 (and above).
  • Advanced T-SQL skills.
  • Extensive experience with data modeling and data warehouse development.
  • Solid understanding of database design practices, normalization concepts, and indexes.
  • Proven experience with SQL Server in VLDB environment.
  • Experience with database monitoring, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of memory management techniques, database partitioning, and optimal storage.
  • Experience writing complex Python scripts for data manipulation using libraries such as Pandas.
  • Experience with Spark and other ETL tools for Big Data (preferably Talend).
  • Experience with Hadoop ecosystem (preferably Cloudera) - 3+ years.
  • Hands-on experience with HDFS, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, and NoSQL (preferably MongoDB).
  • Knowledge of Tableau and other reporting tools.
  • Experience with Connectivity Tools (Connect Direct, SSH Tectia).
  • Experience with Enterprise scheduling tools (Autosys, etc).
  • Demonstrated understanding of SDLC (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, etc.) and industry best practices.
