About the position

Our Annapolis, MD based client has an immediate opening for a Mid-Level SQL Developer. In this role, you will be joining a team of developers assigned to projects with new release cycles and operations and maintenance (O&M) of existing code. The majority of the environment consists of internal custom applications, which requires a strong developer with a team mentality to collaborate effectively with the Business Analyst, Project Manager, and Web Developer to complete assigned projects. This position is 100% onsite in Annapolis, offering a dynamic work environment where every day presents new challenges. Responsibilities

• Perform performance management, including running diagnostics, optimizing queries, and other performance tuning, ensuring proper backups.
• Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct other programmers to make changes.
• Test programs or databases, troubleshoot issues, correct errors, and make necessary modifications.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard data against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure.
• Develop standards and best practices to guide the use and acquisition of software to protect vulnerable information.

Requirements

• 5+ years of recent experience with MS SQL Developer.
• Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Strong MS SQL development experience (minimum 2012) with the ability to design complex stored procedures and functions.
• Expertise and knowledge of best practices with MS SQL Server and SQL development.
• Strong understanding of relational database design.
• Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders.
