About the position

As a SQL Developer at Noke, you will leverage your expertise in database technologies to build and maintain a robust database architecture that supports advanced data analysis and enhances business operations. Your role will involve optimizing SQL statements, ensuring database performance and security, and collaborating with team members to document best practices.

Responsibilities

• Write and optimize in-application SQL statements.
• Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases.
• Handle common database procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
• Profile server resource usage and optimize and tweak as necessary.
• Create database objects such as tables, procedures, triggers, and functions.
• Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and perform query optimization.
• Extract data from MySQL/PostgreSQL databases to generate ad hoc reports for analysis.
• Document procedures, workflows, and best practices related to data processing and modeling.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with SQL based database technologies (Oracle, SQL, MySQL, Postgres) including stored procedures, functions, triggers, etc.
• Strong proficiency with SQL and its variations among popular databases.
• Skilled at optimizing large, complex SQL statements.
• Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases.
• Capable of configuring popular database engines and orchestrating clusters as necessary.
• Ability to plan resource requirements from high-level specifications.
• Capable of troubleshooting common database issues.
• Familiar with tools that can aid with profiling server resource usage and optimizing it.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
• Programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala will be a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
