As a Senior SQL Developer, you will play a pivotal role in transforming how energy retailers operate by enhancing our cloud-native SaaS offerings. Our comprehensive suite of innovative billing, digital, and analytics solutions is designed to meet diverse market and regulatory requirements, empowering customers while reducing cost-to-serve. In this position, you will collaborate with a close-knit Agile team to support and implement changes to our billing software. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of Agile software development, including planning, designing, building, testing, releasing, and gathering feedback. Teamwork and collaboration are at the heart of our operations, and we seek developers who can support one another, perform peer code reviews, and take shared responsibility for the team's commitments. You will be expected to plan, schedule, and transparently monitor your workload while collaborating closely with team members to ensure shared accountability for the overall efforts. Engaging with clients to clarify requirements is essential, and in their absence, you will actively seek clarity from the Team Lead or Delivery Manager. Your role will also involve estimating the size of backlog items, translating them into logical units of work, and contributing to product development best practices. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing backlog items, completing clear documentation, conducting unit tests, and writing code that adheres to acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Support and implement changes to billing software as part of an Agile team.
• Perform peer reviews of code and take shared responsibility for team commitments.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor workload transparently.
• Collaborate closely with team members to ensure shared accountability for overall efforts.
• Engage with clients to clarify requirements as necessary.
• Seek clarity from Team Lead/Delivery Manager when client access is unavailable.
• Estimate the size of backlog items and translate them into logical tasks.
• Contribute to and actively use product development best practices.
• Implement backlog items and complete clear documentation.
• Conduct unit tests and write code adhering to acceptance criteria.

Requirements

• 4+ years developing and supporting software applications.
• Strong SQL database development experience.
• High level understanding of utility industry concepts.
• Understanding of technical practices such as TDD, BDD, Pair Programming, CI/CD, and estimation techniques.
• Understanding of the software development life cycle.
• Initiative and the ability to hit the ground running.
• Experience with utility billing software is desirable.
• .Net Development experience is desirable.
• Understanding of Agile technical practices and techniques is desirable.
