About the position

As a SQL Developer at Tally Group, you will be an integral part of a close-knit Agile team focused on enhancing our innovative billing software. Your role will involve supporting and implementing changes, collaborating with team members, and engaging with clients to clarify requirements. You will participate in all phases of Agile software development, including planning, designing, building, testing, and releasing software, while ensuring high-quality documentation and adherence to best practices.

Responsibilities

• Support and collaborate with team members, performing peer reviews of code and sharing responsibility for team commitments.
• Plan, schedule, and transparently monitor workload.
• Collaborate closely with team members to ensure shared responsibility for project efforts.
• Seek assistance when needed and provide support to colleagues under pressure.
• Interact with clients to clarify requirements as necessary.
• Check with Team Lead/Delivery Manager for clarity on problems and intended outcomes when client access is unavailable.
• Estimate the size of backlog items and translate them into logical work units (tasks).
• Contribute to and actively utilize product development best practices.
• Implement backlog items effectively.
• Complete clear and concise internal and external documentation.
• Conduct unit tests and write code that meets acceptance criteria.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience developing and supporting software applications.
• Strong SQL database development experience.
• High-level understanding of utility industry concepts.
• Familiarity with technical practices such as TDD, BDD, Pair Programming, CI/CD, and estimation techniques.
• Understanding of the software development life cycle.
• Initiative and ability to quickly adapt to new challenges.
• Experience with utility billing software is desirable.
• Desirable experience in .Net Development.
• Understanding of Agile technical practices and techniques is desirable.
