About the position

The SQL Developer role involves coding, testing, and analyzing client/server applications across various tiers. The position supports existing business systems and collaborates with business analysts to identify needs and technical solutions. The developer will design and document technical requirements, assist in web development, and provide technical guidance during implementation.

Responsibilities

• Code, test, and analyze 2-tier, 3-tier, or N-tier client/server applications.
• Support existing business systems applications.
• Consult with business analysts to identify business needs and appropriate technical solutions.
• Design and document technical requirements for business applications.
• Assist with the design, development, testing, and documentation of web sites/pages.
• Support production and maintenance of existing applications.
• Assist with the development of client business requirements and preparation of specifications.
• Attend meetings and reply to users with basic information.
• Perform HTML programming and web page development.
• Utilize Java development skills for application enhancements.
• Perform design, coding, and testing on complicated revisions to web applications.
• Create efficient and maintainable new applications utilizing databases like Oracle, DB2, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Extensive coding using servlets, CGI scripting, ODBC, JDBC.
• Utilize HTML and graphical tools to enhance web site functionality.
• Confer with clients to identify requirements and determine desired outcomes.
• Provide technical guidance and expertise during implementation.
• Mentor new or junior staff on business knowledge and complex technical issues.
• Analyze, design, and document information to create applicable statements of work and deliverables.
• Proactively analyze and review emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in web application development or equivalent total experience.
• Proficient using Java for multi-tiered web-based applications.
• Demonstrate an understanding of HTML-based programming and authoring tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Supply Chain Knowledge would be an added advantage.
