The SQL Developer position is a critical role responsible for developing applications and integration using the Microsoft SQL Server platform while providing technical and production support. This position will involve a variety of tasks including business intelligence, data analysis, reporting, capturing requirements, testing, monitoring, and implementing solutions through a structured software development life cycle. The SQL Developer will work closely with health systems and the Analytics Division to provide analytics support, ensuring that the data needs of the organization are met effectively and efficiently. In this role, the SQL Developer will design and develop reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and create ETL packages using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). The developer will actively participate in meetings with project managers, team leads, analysts, and other agency staff as needed, fostering collaboration and communication across teams. Additionally, the SQL Developer will assist in mentoring and training business analysts, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance team capabilities. The position requires writing SQL code accurately for quality measures, demonstrating a strong understanding of various databases. The SQL Developer will also be responsible for writing and deploying SQL patches, assisting with schema design, conducting code reviews, and tuning SQL queries for optimal performance. Furthermore, the developer will assist with application schema upgrades and improvements, as well as data upgrades, ensuring that the database systems are up-to-date and functioning efficiently. The role includes developing stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and views using SQL, as well as creating scripts to build new database objects.
