About the position

The SQL Developer position at NexonIT in Columbia, SC, is a contract role focused on the redevelopment and integration of multiple database systems. This position requires the developer to interface between the agency personnel information system, a cloud-hosted enterprise asset management system, and various internal systems and applications. The primary responsibility will be to develop queries, procedures, and functions within the database that interfaces with the state ERP system and agency systems and applications. In addition to the primary focus, the role will also involve establishing the foundation for a data warehouse. The developer will be tasked with designing stable, reliable, and effective databases, modifying databases according to requests, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices. The position requires the creation and maintenance of accurate documentation and design diagrams, ensuring that database programs meet agency and performance requirements. The developer will also be expected to research and provide recommendations for database design and feature implementation. Candidates should have proven skills as a database developer, with hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server and a strong understanding of data management, database design, integration, and data warehouse design. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software development and familiarity with industry best practices and techniques.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in SQL Database Development.
• 3 years of experience in SQL Development.
• In-depth understanding of data management, database design, integration, and data warehouse design.
• Knowledge of industry best practices and techniques.
• MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) certification preferred.
• MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) certification preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience in Government/State Agency projects.
• Hands-on experience with MSSQL documentation development.
