About the position

The Sr SQL Developer role is focused on leveraging extensive experience in SQL development to facilitate mainframe migrations to transactional systems. This position requires expertise in complex data cleansing, stored procedure development, and database management, with a strong emphasis on ETL processes and data analytics. The role is designed for a seasoned professional who can contribute to database design, administration, and security while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver business insights through data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
• Manage database migrations from mainframe systems to transactional databases.
• Perform data cleansing and type conversions as part of ETL processes.
• Design and implement database schemas and models.
• Administer database backups, recovery, and security measures.
• Utilize ETL tools like SSIS, Talend, or Informatica for data integration.
• Analyze data for business insights and reporting using BI tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot database issues.

Requirements

• 11+ years of experience as a SQL Developer.
• Proficient in SQL, including writing queries, subqueries, joins, and set operations.
• Strong understanding of database design principles, including normalization and indexing.
• Experience in writing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and tools for data migration and transformation.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL/PL-SQL for SQL Server.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Business Intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
