About the position

Ramy Infotech Inc is seeking a skilled SQL Developer to join our team in Baltimore, MD, on a 6-month contract basis. This hybrid role requires the candidate to work onsite two days a week while supporting the execution of our firm's project initiatives. The SQL Developer will play a crucial role in advancing the firm's cloud and data strategies using leading cloud platforms and tools. The primary duties and responsibilities include owning the development, coding, and bug-fixing for small projects, which involve creating, updating, or fixing new or existing data integrations, SSRS reports, and data loads into Snowflake. The SQL Developer will maintain effective communications with the Scrum Master, team members, sponsors, and other stakeholders. They will execute ad-hoc development projects that build data integration feeds and SSRS reports, as well as automation tasks. Active participation in daily standups and bi-weekly backlog grooming sessions based on the Agile framework is expected, whether virtually via Microsoft Teams or in person. Additionally, the developer will submit automation projects for peer review and change management prior to deployment to Production. Other related duties or projects may include facilitating daily standups in the role of Scrum Master. Qualifications for this position include exposure or experience in the financial services or asset management industry, a Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific or technical field, and at least 5 years of application development experience. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and Agile Scrum boards is essential, along with the ability to work in the Baltimore office location a minimum of 40% onsite and 60% remote.

Responsibilities

  • Owning the development, coding, and bug-fixing for small projects.

  • Completing other related duties or projects as required, which may include facilitating daily standups in the role of Scrum Master.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific or technical field.
  • 5+ years of application development experience.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum boards.
  • Ability to work in the Baltimore office location a minimum of 40% onsite and 60% remote.
  • Hands-on experience with data and API integration projects.
  • Experience writing SQL scripts.
  • Strong SQL knowledge.
  • Experience with financial accounting and trading technologies (i.e. Charles River Investment Management Solution, Advent APX Portfolio Management and Accounting, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with one or more integration technologies (i.e. SSIS, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with automation tools (Automate) is a plus.
  • Experience with Jira & Confluence or any other similar project visualization tool (i.e. Rally, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with Snowflake is a plus.
  • PowerShell experience is a plus.
  • Experience with GitHub is a plus.
  • Experience with Reporting Tools (SSRS, Tableau).
  • Experience with ETL Tools (FiveTran, Boomi, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with MS Office Automation is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data warehouse (1 year preferred).
