About the position

As a Database Developer, you will be responsible for gathering all salient information regarding the intended functions of each database. This includes receiving requests pertaining to the layout, appearance, and special features of each database. You will design and create appropriate frameworks that are sufficiently large to accommodate the needs of the organization. Additionally, you will configure databases to ensure they are resilient against attacks and capable of preventing data loss. Your role will also involve reviewing each development to detect and amend coding and typographical errors, as well as bugs. You will be tasked with formulating data dictionaries that align with task specifications and creating technical documents that outline the purpose, capacity, and guidelines associated with each database. Furthermore, you will provide practical guidance on the use and migration of each database, ensuring that all users can effectively utilize the systems in place. Servicing and updating databases as required will also be a key part of your responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Degree in information technology, computer science, or an adjacent field.
  • Certificate in Database Development is strongly advantageous.
  • Demonstrable experience as a database developer.
  • Portfolio of previous developments is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, C++, or Java, with a preference for more than one of these.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to craft detailed technical manuals.
