About the position

Genesis10 is seeking a SQL Developer for a 6-month contract-to-hire position with a leading client located in Eighty Four, PA. This role will be on-site 3-4 days a week, with working hours from 7 am to 5 pm daily, including a one-hour lunch break. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the data and business intelligence needs of teams at both Team Headquarters and in the Field. The SQL Developer will ensure that stakeholders have the necessary information reporting tools to support better decision-making by transforming data into actionable insights. This position involves supporting ETL processing and executing identified improvement opportunities to enhance data accuracy and availability. The Business Intelligence ETL Developer will monitor and support ETL processes from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and availability. The candidate will need to gain a thorough understanding of existing processes and procedures, including data dependencies, and collaborate with the team to refine processes to ensure high data quality and optimal system performance. Additionally, the developer will support the data development team by executing identified improvement opportunities in batch processes and participate in testing for development tool and hardware upgrades. Regular status updates of work progress will be provided to the project team and management, and the developer will develop a good working relationship with team members from source systems for coordination and resolution of batch issues.

Responsibilities

• Ensure data accuracy and availability through monitoring and supporting ETL processes from various sources.
• Gain thorough understanding of existing processes and procedures including data dependencies.
• Collaborate with team to refine processes to ensure a high level of data quality and optimal system performance.
• Support data development team by executing identified improvement opportunities in batch processes.
• Participate in testing for development tool and hardware upgrades.
• Provide status updates of work progress to project team and management.
• Develop a good working relationship with team members from source systems for coordination and resolution of batch issues.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience with SQL / ETL development, relational or dimensional databases.
• Availability outside of normal working hours to troubleshoot ETL issues.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills.
• A willingness to learn technology to solve business problems.
• Ability to deliver assigned work tasks within project timelines.
• Interest in learning about builder supply & construction industry and company business practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
• A curious self-starter who can determine viable options or the best next step to work independently to achieve results.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in full-phase ETL implementation using tools such as SSIS, Informatica, or other ETL tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
