About the position

The SQL/Oracle Developer is responsible for overseeing the systems development life cycle (SDLC) process, ensuring that business needs are met through effective analysis, design, implementation, and quality assurance. This role involves managing project plans, coordinating with vendors, and interfacing with customer groups to gather requirements and ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the systems development life cycle (SDLC) process including business needs analysis, requirement gathering, information system architecture, design, integration, implementation, QA, deployment, and production maintenance.
• Creating and maintaining project plans and schedules, setting milestones, assigning resources, and identifying/mitigating risks to ensure successful execution.
• Overseeing activities of vendors providing hardware and software solutions related to the project.
• Coordinating major releases with local and remote deployment support teams, and briefing customer group representatives on new features and changes.
• Interfacing with customer groups to understand business needs and drive effective requirements gathering.
• Managing iterations of design, implementation, and deployment efforts, keeping customers engaged to ensure that the final work product meets customer expectations.
• Reviewing proposed new features and connectivity to provide feedback on feasibility and potential impact.
• Synthesizing customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Developing and directing preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for completing systems.
• Coordinating integrated testing activities and reviewing test requirements to ensure completeness of the test program.
• Performing technical analysis of complete systems and preparing comprehensive system level evaluations.
• Developing, modifying, applying, and maintaining standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures.
• Conducting software inspection, testing, verification, and validation.
• Implementing software development and maintenance processes and methods.
• Ensuring measures meet acceptable reliability standards.
• Developing overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process, and contract requirements and objectives.
• Ensuring that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives, and/or contract.
• Reviewing software design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements.

Requirements

• A minimum of twelve (12) years experience with a Bachelor's degree or nine (9) years experience with a Master's degree.
• Experience with requirements analyzing and developing software requirements; software testing and experience in quality assurance in a software development environment.
• Must be proficient with SQL/Oracle SQL Developer.
