About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a SQL/SAS Data Administrator (Lead Business Accountability Specialist) in Strategic Execution as part of Commercial Banking. In this role, you will develop, maintain and implement operational and reporting database systems utilizing the latest techniques in data modeling and ETL concepts, from business requirements to technical design to final product. You will implement database solutions and ensure quality assurance and timely delivery of data, as well as develop, maintain and implement automated quality assurance reviews using tools such as SAS Enterprise Guide. You will lead complex initiatives with broad impact designed to mitigate current and emerging business risk issues and concerns, acting as a key participant in large-scale, cross-functional planning for the business. Additionally, you will assess, analyze, and design complex and multi-faceted controls, protocols, and approaches with respect to risk mitigation and the control environment, ensuring effective planning for sustainability, ongoing control adherence, reporting, measurement, technology impacts, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains and implements operational and reporting database systems utilizing the latest techniques in data modeling and ETL concepts.
• Implements database solutions and ensures quality assurance and timely delivery of data.
• Develops, maintains and implements automated quality assurance reviews using tools such as SAS Enterprise Guide.
• Lead complex initiatives with broad impact designed to mitigate current and emerging business risk issues.
• Assess, analyze, and design complex and multi-faceted controls, protocols, and approaches with respect to risk mitigation.
• Make decisions in complex situations requiring solid understanding of business's functional area or products.
• Strategically collaborate and consult with peers and mid to senior-level managers to identify current and emerging risks.
• Act as liaison for the business with external parties to support timeliness and effectiveness of communications.
• May lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor.

Requirements

• 5+ years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficient in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and joining multiple tables.
• Experience in designing and building databases in Teradata SQL.
• Experience in designing stored procedures.
• Proficient in writing and optimizing complex SAS programs.
• Experience in SAS atomization.
• ETL development skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of data analysis, profiling, mapping, quality, lineage and governance.
• Ability to take initiative, identify opportunities and implement change.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
