Trillium Professional is seeking a senior SQL Server / Azure Database Administrator to join an Oracle/SQL Server Database Administration Team in Richmond, Virginia. The selected candidate will be responsible for administering and supporting SQL Server databases throughout the organization. This role requires a proactive approach to monitoring databases to ensure uptime and availability, troubleshooting application and database issues related to connectivity, access, and security, and tuning long-running SQL queries. The candidate will also review and refine existing database tasks and processes to better align with agency and group priorities, leveraging operating system scripting utilities for database maintenance and diagnosis. In addition to these responsibilities, the selected candidate will review the existing database implementation and propose, execute, and direct necessary changes. They will perform SQL Server installations across various versions (2012, 2014, 2016) with failover clustering and provide support for SQL Server databases, including administration, support, and tuning. A solid understanding of data modeling principles is essential, as is the ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals independently. The candidate will work collaboratively with a team of Oracle and SQL Server DBAs and must communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
