About the position

The SQL Server Developer-SSIS at Arraya Solutions is responsible for planning and executing project work related to the organization's infrastructure software and hardware projects. This role involves collaborating with IT leadership to ensure project efficiency and drive data initiatives that enhance business performance through effective reporting and dashboard creation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business performance metrics and build effective dashboards for business users.
  • Lead best practices for users of Qlik.
  • Empower agile decision making and promote a culture of data-driven decision making.
  • Perform data model design and implementation.
  • Create SQL stored procedures, advanced queries, debugging, and optimization.
  • Rewrite SAS code into SSIS Packages and Power BI, including SSIS debugging.
  • Design, update, and maintain relational databases.
  • Develop process automation and ETL solutions.
  • Maintain and support daily data refresh procedures.
  • Perform and automate daily maintenance processes.
  • Create and prepare data sets for reporting and dashboards.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize new and existing processes.
  • Assist with data and database migrations, testing, and validation.
  • Create MS SQL Server procedures and batch jobs to extract, transform and load data.
  • Develop and test reports and data extracts.
  • Adhere to development standards and software change management procedures.
  • Propose new data strategies and methods to enhance the data environment.
  • Understand visual analytics best practices and BI tools like Qlik Sense, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Integrate reporting components from multiple data sources.
  • Optimize dashboards focusing on usability, performance, flexibility, and standardization.
  • Manage day-to-day technical challenges and communicate risks or issues to the project manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Math or related field, or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years experience with data analysis, preparation, and visualization.
  • 5+ years of full SDLC experience utilizing SQL Server, Microsoft BI, Data Warehouse, Data Marts, and Reporting solutions deployed in AWS infrastructure.
  • Advanced MS SQL Server knowledge, Microsoft BI stack, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, Meta-Data Management, Data Governance, Data Marts, OLTP, and ODS skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, manage multiple tasks, and promote interdisciplinary problem solving.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, strong analytic and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong understanding of Qlik or related visualization software such as Tableau, PowerBI.

Benefits

  • Full-time contract position with a pay range of $55.00 - $60.00 per hour.
  • Expected hours: 40 per week with an 8-hour shift.
