About the position

As a SQL Server Database Administrator, you will manage the development and performance of SQL databases for web applications on-prem; experience with Azure cloud platforms is preferred. You will configure and maintain database servers and processes, ensuring high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security. Your role will involve designing, installing, upgrading, monitoring, maintaining, and conducting performance tuning procedures in a production MS SQL Server database environment while ensuring high levels of data availability. You will develop, implement, and oversee SQL Server database policies and procedures to ensure databases' integrity and availability and accompanying software. Additionally, you will create, maintain, and execute scheduled jobs, data extracts, data refreshes, data loads, and data replication. You will also perform data modeling and optimization, preliminary data received from customer designs, data analysis, report writing from existing data using SQL (Structured Query Language) queries, and creation of new records and information updates as needed. Diagnosing and troubleshooting database errors will be a key part of your responsibilities, along with creating automation for repeating database tasks. You will troubleshoot and resolve database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6+ years of technical experience in SQL Server similar Application support or Development environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Knowledge and strong experience and understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Strong experience with SQL Server 2012 and above.
  • Knowledgeable of T-SQL (Indexes, Triggers, Functions, Packages, and Procedures).
  • Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux server operating systems.
  • Previous experience with Azure Cloud technologies (Azure SQL Server, Analysis Services, Synapse, Active Directory).
  • Strong Experience in High availability (Always On, cluster environment).
  • Proficient knowledge of backups, restores, and recovery models.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and human relations skills to interact with clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams.
