About the position

The SQL Server DBA position is focused on managing and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server environments, ensuring high reliability and performance. The role requires extensive experience in database administration, particularly in a multi-datacenter, distributed server environment. The DBA will be responsible for implementing best practices in database planning, design, performance, and capacity management, while also providing technical support and collaborating with various teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage SQL Server databases, ensuring high reliability and performance.
  • Provide DBA support in a multi-datacenter, distributed server environment.
  • Monitor SQL performance, analyze problems, and implement solutions.
  • Offer technical support on SQL design and programming to development teams.
  • Plan and coordinate SQL Server releases, migrations, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with network, IIS admins, and storage teams for SQL configurations.
  • Develop technical documents, project plans, and engage with customers.
  • Provide non-production/production support, deploy code, and troubleshoot application issues.
  • Support and maintain DevOps tools (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins, Bitbucket, etc.).
  • Lead technical meetings on design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Manage SQL clusters, load balancing, log shipping, and replication.
  • Drive innovation and automation in database management.
  • Lead incident resolution and manage database capacity planning.
  • Ensure compliance and implement risk management controls.
  • Conduct research on database technologies and provide recommendations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing MS SQL Server environments.
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server database administration.

Nice-to-haves

  • SQL Server DBA certification.
