The SQL Server DBA position at McLane Advanced Technologies is a full-time role based in Albuquerque, NM, or Oakridge, TN. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing SQL Server databases, ensuring their performance, security, and availability. This includes performing advanced SQL Server features such as replication and Always On, as well as managing backups and restores. The DBA will also set up High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server, ensuring that the databases are resilient and can recover from failures. In addition to these responsibilities, the DBA will document all database maintenance procedures and keep SQL servers updated with necessary patches. The role requires writing and troubleshooting SQL code, including the design of stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, and constraints. Performance tuning and optimization (PTO) will be a key focus, utilizing native monitoring and troubleshooting tools to manage indexes and statistics effectively. Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in SQL Server administration and maintenance, along with experience in MongoDB. Strong communication, analytical, planning, and coordination skills are essential for success in this role. The position requires a BS/BA in a STEM field or related area, and candidates must hold relevant certifications such as VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSE, and CompTIA Network+. Additionally, candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain a DoE Q clearance.
