About the position

The SQL Server Lead / Azure Cloud / Big Data Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, testing, and implementation of applications software and data solutions. This role requires extensive experience in database management, cloud platforms, and big data technologies, with a focus on optimizing data architecture and ensuring data integrity. The position involves collaboration with various teams to establish effective data solutions and maintain high standards of data quality and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of data warehouse solutions using SQL Server and Azure services.
• Implement data integration techniques and ensure data quality processes are followed.
• Optimize data warehouse performance through query optimization and indexing.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes using Azure Data Factory and other tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
• Create insightful visualizations and reports using Power BI based on data stored in Synapse Data Warehouse.
• Ensure compliance with data security principles and regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electronic data processing systems study, design, and programming.
• At least four (4) years of experience in a lead capacity.
• Three (3) years of experience with SQL database architecture, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Three (3) years of experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud platform and related services.
• Three (3) years of experience designing and developing data warehouses using SQL Server, Oracle, or Teradata.
• Three (3) years of experience with big data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, or Apache Kafka.
• Three (3) years of experience with data visualization tools like Power BI.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl, or Shell scripting.
• Familiarity with data security principles and compliance regulations.
• Knowledge of various databases used in data warehousing, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
