About the position

The Lead Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and implementation of applications software, with a strong focus on SQL Server, Azure Cloud, and Big Data technologies. This role requires extensive experience in database management, data warehousing, and data integration, ensuring high data integrity and performance optimization. The Lead Engineer will also collaborate with various teams to establish effective working relationships and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement new or modified applications software.
• Install and configure operating systems and applications in the organization's operational environment.
• Optimize and integrate new and/or reusable systems components.
• Ensure compliance with pertinent government regulations and infrastructure requirements.
• Manage database architecture, data modeling, and performance optimization for SQL databases.
• Work with Microsoft Azure Cloud services, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
• Design and develop data warehouses using platforms like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or Teradata.
• Utilize big data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, or Apache Kafka.
• Create data visualizations and reports using Power BI based on data stored in Synapse Data Warehouse.
• Implement data cleansing, profiling, and validation techniques to maintain data integrity.

Requirements

• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electronic data processing systems study, design, and programming.
• At least four (4) years of experience in a lead capacity.
• Three (3) years of experience with SQL database architecture, data modeling, normalization, and performance optimization.
• Three (3) years of experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud platform and related services.
• Three (3) years of experience designing and developing data warehouses using SQL Server, Oracle, or Teradata.
• Three (3) years of experience with big data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, or Apache Kafka.
• Three (3) years of experience with data visualization tools like Power BI.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ETL tools like Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Microsoft SSIS.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Perl, or Shell scripting.
• Understanding of data security principles and compliance regulations.
