About the position

O'Neil Digital Solutions (ODS) is seeking a Level III SQL Developer to join our software development team in Plano, TX. Founded in 1973, ODS is a leading IT consulting firm that specializes in optimizing complex end-to-end business process systems across various industries, including Financial Services, Digital Media, Healthcare, and Transportation. Our firm is known for providing high-touch bespoke software engineering, systems integration, and infrastructure management services to clients of all sizes. We are committed to helping companies navigate complex digital transformations through our proven technical capabilities, which include high-speed digital printing, electronic document delivery, and advanced data analytics using frameworks like Hadoop and AWS Redshift. In this role, the SQL Developer will collaborate closely with the Software Engineering team to design, develop, enhance, and maintain software applications. The ideal candidate will have experience with performance tuning, ETL processes, and SSIS/SSRS, as well as a strong background in software development. This position requires a proactive approach to leading the design and development of Job Scheduler-based client applications, utilizing T-SQL and following the Agile/Scrum development process. The SQL Developer will also conduct code reviews and quality assurance processes to ensure adherence to software development standards, while prioritizing tasks to meet project milestones and delivery deadlines. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders, and the position requires a minimum of an Associate's degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field. The successful candidate will demonstrate 3-5 years of experience with SQL, SSIS, and Stored Procedure development, along with strong leadership and communication skills. The work environment is primarily office-based, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods and perform essential job duties effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Job Scheduler-based client applications using T-SQL.
  • Conduct code reviews and quality assurance processes to ensure adherence to software development standards.
  • Prioritize work to meet milestones and delivery due dates.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering team members on software applications development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • AA degree or higher in Information Technology, Business, or related field required.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience with SQL, SSIS, and Stored Procedure development and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of performance tuning and code optimization concepts.
  • Experience in delivering medium-sized projects from inception to deployment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
