About the position

The SQL/Tableau Developer at Excelacom is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of complex data warehouse systems to support various business and technology needs. This role involves hands-on work throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including database analysis, data modeling, and the optimization of ETL models. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions and ensure data quality while also contributing to the development of marketing collateral and intellectual capital.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex data warehouse systems.
  • Perform database analysis and data modeling using SQL.
  • Identify areas to improve and optimize ETL models.
  • Analyze business requirements and implement technical solutions.
  • Work with DBA teams to follow development and deployment procedures.
  • Provide production support and troubleshoot data/system issues.
  • Collaborate with developers and guide testers during the QA process.
  • Identify root causes and resolve data-related issues.
  • Provide flexible solutions to complex business problems.
  • Review and optimize query performance.
  • Contribute to productizing Excelacom's work and proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Prior consulting experience in an agile environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience as a software engineer in a data-focused environment.
  • Strong SQL knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
  • Extensive experience with Tableau and Business Intelligence data visualization tools.
  • Ability to interact with business users to understand requirements.
  • Experience in developing and supporting interactive Tableau Dashboard reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in Telecommunications, Media, or Cable.
  • Past success in generating new business with existing clients.
