About the position

The Sr. 508 Compliance Document Reviewer at Mathematica is responsible for ensuring that digital documents meet federal accessibility standards, specifically Section 508 compliance. This role involves reviewing, remediating, and advising on the accessibility of various document formats, including PDFs and MS Office files. The position requires collaboration with internal teams to promote accessible content creation and staying updated on relevant accessibility laws and best practices. The reviewer will also contribute to the organization's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

Responsibilities

• Review digital documents and products for Section 508 compliance, ensuring they meet accessibility guidelines.
• Remediate content files to include appropriate accessibility components such as alt text and proper formatting.
• Collaborate with internal customers and production colleagues to promote accessible authoring of content.
• Ensure new documents are prepared in accordance with Section 508 compliance requirements.
• Stay current with federal and state accessibility requirements and contribute to internal accessibility information.
• Utilize collaboration and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Exhibit a client-first philosophy to enhance customer experience.
• Support organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 3 or more years of experience providing 508 documentation remediation support.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
• Advanced knowledge of CommonLook Global Access.
• Solid knowledge of page layout and document production.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
