About the position

The Sr. Academic Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic programs at the Center of Leadership Education (CLE) at Johns Hopkins University. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily administration of various student groups, events, and programmatic necessities associated with CLE's undergraduate and minor programs. These programs include the Clark Scholars Program, Multidisciplinary Design, CLE minors, Design Day, the Fotiadi travel fund, and experiential student groups. The coordinator will engage extensively with faculty, staff, students, and other collaborators, ensuring a seamless experience for all stakeholders involved in the academic programs. In this role, the coordinator will act as the key liaison with the Clark Foundation, which involves attending conferences, submitting reports, and planning both social and academic events. The coordinator will also oversee travel arrangements for intersession and maintain the Clark Scholar alumni database, facilitating connections between current students and alumni. The position requires the implementation of strategic planning goals and objectives, as well as the development and modification of academic policies. The coordinator will supervise various administrative activities and ensure that academic projects and surveys are completed efficiently and on time. Additionally, the coordinator will oversee student experiential groups, including AMA, Salant, Enactus, Women in Business, SCNO, JHUCC, and JHPMC, managing budget approvals and supporting the Multi-Disciplinary Design team. The coordinator will also serve as the Design Day event coordinator and assist with the faculty promotion process by maintaining a semester course tracker and synthesizing evaluations for faculty. A critical aspect of this role involves working with distressed students, providing support and collaborating with other university departments to enhance student success. The coordinator will also consult with program directors on academic and student policy changes and actively participate in various meetings related to the Clark Scholar Foundation and other committees.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the key point person and liaison with the Clark Foundation, attending conferences and events, submitting reports, and planning social and academic events.
  • Oversee and organize travel abroad for intersession and update Clark Scholar course production.
  • Maintain the Clark Scholar alumni database and connect current students with alumni.
  • Implement and launch proposed academic and student-related strategic planning goals, objectives, and strategies.
  • Develop new policies or modify existing policies related to academic programs.
  • Review and approve academic and student governance and outcome reports.
  • Supervise the completion of administrative activities, projects, surveys, or studies to ensure timely and efficient academic activities.
  • Oversee student experiential groups including budget approval for groups such as AMA, Salant, Enactus, Women in Business, SCNO, JHUCC, and JHPMC.
  • Support the Multi-Disciplinary Design team and serve as the point person for the Fotiadi travel fund.
  • Coordinate the CLE's Design Day event and assist with the faculty promotion process by maintaining a semester course tracker and synthesizing evaluations for faculty.
  • Act as a sounding board for distressed students regarding academic concerns and collaborate with university departments to resolve issues.
  • Consult with and advise program directors on changes to academic and student policies and procedures.
  • Actively lead and participate in Clark Scholar Foundation meetings, LEED meetings, and UPAAC Subcommittee.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Five years of progressively responsible administrative/academic experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, WordPress, SIS, and course production.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
