About the position

The Sr Account Executive for the Automotive Vertical at Gannett is a pivotal role focused on driving digital marketing solutions for automotive segment customers. This position involves building strong relationships with senior executives at local dealerships, developing tailored business solutions, and leveraging data to enhance client retention and revenue growth. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to transforming the retail auto industry through innovative marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product penetration, upsell, and retention of accounts with a primary goal of new business development.
  • Develop relationships with senior executives at local dealerships and rooftops.
  • Perform face-to-face sales calls and retention meetings, delivering valuable insights with every interaction.
  • Share marketing and campaign results, implications, and recommendations with clients.
  • Create solutions with Customer Success Managers (CSM) and deliver custom solutions that provide ROI to clients.
  • Focus on delivering and obtaining long-term commitments and campaigns.
  • Effectively use SalesForce.com to manage the pipeline and maintain awareness of revenue responsibilities and performance to goal.
  • Develop and work a pipeline of potential customers' growth within the existing base and from new high-potential prospects.
  • Produce accurate forecasts and develop account plans that shape customized account strategies.
  • Collaboratively develop and execute strategies to gain market share within the Majors segment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 to 5+ years of sales experience with a history of successful sales, innovation, and goal achievement.
  • Ability to identify the current needs of the client base and communicate the benefits of audience-based marketing solutions.
  • Experience in handling objections regarding costs, budgets, and selling strategies.
  • Strong understanding of digital media platforms and ability to grow and maintain market share.
  • Proficient in face-to-face sales calling, including upselling, appointment setting, and cold calling.
  • Demonstrated record of success in a goal-oriented, highly accountable environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage time focused on sales-related activities.
  • Experience working with Salesforce or another CRM platform.
