About the position

The Senior Account Executive is responsible for managing client relationships and acting as the primary point of contact for clients in the commercial lines sector. This role involves preparing applications, developing marketing strategies for new business, and overseeing renewals with minimal supervision. The position requires expertise in handling complex accounts with significant premiums and multifaceted coverages, ensuring that client needs are met effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate terms, conditions, coverage limits, and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
  • Facilitate requests and needs of the carriers on behalf of NFP's clients.
  • Work with the Claims Department on relevant claims for assigned clients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and a follow-up system to ensure policies, endorsements, and other information are received timely.
  • Supervise and direct the daily job activities of the Coordinators, Account Managers, and Account Executives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and clients through regular contact and client visits.
  • Keep clients informed of appropriate industry trends and events, including all state and federal regulatory issues.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing large, complex accounts with significant premiums and multifaceted coverages.
  • Experience with EPIC or related CRM systems.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly, edit for spelling and grammar, and present numeric data effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to make sound independent decisions.
  • Ability to interact successfully with a variety of people and personalities.
  • Technical expertise with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and reconcile financial reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the insurance industry with a focus on commercial lines.
  • Familiarity with retrospective rating plans for large lines of coverage and foreign packages.
