About the position

The Senior Account Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS) will lead revenue generation for a division of one of AWS's largest System Integrator accounts. This role focuses on increasing awareness and adoption of AWS by engaging with internal stakeholders to transform their IT strategy through cloud computing solutions. The position involves developing and managing customer relationships, particularly with government missions, including the Department of Defense and National Intelligence communities, while driving business and technical relationships to accelerate customer adoption and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Drive business and technical relationships with customers to launch cloud solutions rapidly.
  • Define, identify, and pursue key cloud-related opportunities.
  • Establish go-to-market strategies in collaboration with various internal teams.
  • Maintain an accurate and robust pipeline and forecast of business opportunities.
  • Identify specific prospects, partners, and channels to approach with tailored value propositions.
  • Serve as a key member of the AWS Public Sector team to drive adoption of AWS market and technical strategy.
  • Understand technical considerations specific to the public sector and guide product offerings accordingly.
  • Prepare and deliver business reviews to senior management regarding strategies for revenue growth.
  • Manage complex contract negotiations and liaise with the legal group.
  • Accelerate customer adoption and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of sales experience in enterprise software, hardware, networking infrastructure, managed hosting services, or cloud computing services.
  • 5+ years of sales experience working with Aerospace and Defense Partners.
  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.

  • Solid technical background in software applications, networking, big data analytic tools, and web app development.
  • Track record for exceeding sales quotas.
  • Direct experience selling to the Department of Defense and the intelligence community.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
