About the position

The Sales Executive at Arizona Sports Enterprises (ASE) is responsible for generating revenue through the sale of advertising, sponsorships, and other opportunities related to University of Arizona Athletics. This role involves identifying prospects, conducting sales calls, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring timely payments, all while providing exceptional service and support to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Sells advertising, sponsorships, and other revenue-producing opportunities as defined by the Corporate Sponsorship Director.
  • Identifies prospects for potential sales.
  • Conducts industry research on clients and develops needs analysis for potential investment.
  • Conducts ten (10) in-person sales calls per week with prospective clients.
  • Maintains an active and realistic pipeline of prospective clients.
  • Assists with the development of local sales packages and non-traditional sales packages.
  • Develops client relationships by closing sales and providing outstanding service.
  • Ensures timely payments by clients and conducts payment inquiry calls if necessary.
  • Conducts proper outreach and engagement with clients throughout the year, ensuring clients are 'gratified' at least five (5) times per year.
  • Provides each client with a year-end review of their return on investment.
  • Fosters positive employee relations and teamwork by following policies and procedures, communicating effectively, and complying with regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Three (3) to eight (8) years of sales experience in a related field, preferably in college or pro sports.
  • Demonstrated track record of outstanding sales achievement in growth and profit.
  • Proven ability to renew and upsell existing clients as well as land new clients.
  • Exceptional sales skills with the ability to pitch and close deals up to and beyond six figures.
  • Proven ability to manage activation and fulfillment of sponsorships with minimal attrition.
  • Superior communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiastic and creative with strategic and tactical thinking abilities.
  • Strong understanding of sales compensation plans and ability to navigate compensation issues.
  • High level of personal and professional integrity and ethics.
  • Strong understanding of and passion for college and professional sports industries.
  • Strong computer skills with experience in CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite.
