About the position

The Sr. Account Manager for Scientific Sales Affairs is a field-based role focused on supporting the Indiana-Illinois region. This position is integral to the Regional Leadership Team, responsible for demonstrating the value of the company's Animal Health portfolio, delivering technical lectures, and collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve business objectives. The role requires a strong background in veterinary medicine and experience in the animal health industry, emphasizing customer engagement and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Function as an integral member of the Regional Leadership Team supporting territory managers.
  • Prepare and deliver technical lectures on the product line to key customers and professional veterinary organizations.
  • Offer solutions that align with customer needs and business priorities.
  • Partner with the Regional Sales Manager to develop and execute effective business strategies.
  • Meet with key opinion leaders in clinical and university settings to discuss the company's portfolio.
  • Represent the company at veterinary schools and associations.
  • Serve as the region's technical expert, evaluating training needs and coaching sales representatives.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Learning and Development, Marketing, Veterinary Insights & Medical Affairs, and Sales.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree.
  • 10 years of combined relevant experience, including 5 years in clinical companion animal veterinary practice and 5 years in the animal health industry.
  • Ability to translate complex issues into comprehensible content for various audiences.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with internal customers and hospital decision makers.
  • Experience as a medical consultant in vaccines, parasiticides, and therapeutics.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and build strong networks.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills for internal and customer challenges.
  • Competency in MS Office and industry-relevant software like Salesforce and Power BI.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with companion animal vaccines, parasiticides, and therapeutics.
  • Applicable advanced degrees and research experience.
  • Experience in delivering training or instruction within a structured organization.
  • Leadership and/or management experience.
