About the position

The Sr. SEC Accountant is responsible for assisting with the preparation of the quarterly and annual SEC filings and ensuring the documents are complete and accurate. The candidate will also be responsible for stock compensation accounting and variance analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare SEC Filings (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and Proxy)
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the company's financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting standards, including preparing financial statements, drafting disclosures, and MD&A for both annual and quarterly financial statements.
  • Prepare the quarterly disclosure checklist.
  • Perform review of XBRL tagging.
  • Prepare schedules that support the SEC Filings, such as earnings per share.
  • Manage documentation requests related to quarterly and year-end activities.
  • Prepare share-based compensation entries for month-end close and provide associated analysis.
  • Perform and document internal controls in accordance with SOX.
  • Complete tie-out and support binders for all public filings.
  • Assist with other ad-hoc projects, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university or equivalent education and experience
  • CPA required
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience including a minimum of 2 years of Big 4 public accounting experience
  • Experience in the preparation of SEC filings (10-Qs, 10-Ks, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Superior attention to detail, accuracy, critical problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines, while maintaining a high level of detail
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, and Workiva strongly preferred
