About the position

The Sr Accountant position at Azenta Life Sciences is a critical role within the Global Cost Accounting Function, responsible for providing comprehensive cost accounting support across multiple sites in the United States. This position involves various general and cost accounting activities that are essential for the monthly and quarterly financial close processes. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and auditors, ensuring accurate inventory management and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard monthly journal entries related to inventory and other key balance sheet accounts.
• Close manufacturing work orders in conjunction with site manufacturing leads, ensuring appropriate variances are properly analyzed.
• Ensure completion of various inventory-related internal control activities.
• Execute monthly and quarterly inventory reporting for internal and external purposes.
• Support the annual standard cost setting process.
• Support and monitor monthly cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts.
• Lead execution of monthly inventory counts for the Multiomics business.
• Complete monthly account reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare quarterly flux analysis.
• Collaborate as needed with internal accounting teams and internal/external auditors.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; an MBA, CMA, or CPA is a plus.
• 3+ years of progressive experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of cost and inventory accounting concepts under US GAAP.
• Experience with accounting software applications, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office suite required.
• Knowledge of the Oracle Cloud ERP is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task in complex and dynamic environments.
• Experience working at a global company in a SOX compliant environment is a plus.
