About the position
The Senior Revenue Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate recording and reporting of revenue in compliance with ASC 606. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in revenue recognition and accounting standards, who will oversee the revenue recognition process and act as a key reference point for related inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Oversee revenue recognition process and ensure all revenue is recognized in compliance with ASC 606.
- Act as the key reference point for all ASC 606, IFRS 15, and revenue recognition related inquiries.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports, ensuring accuracy and conformance with established guidelines.
- Coordinate with the sales and legal teams to review contracts and ensure appropriate revenue recognition.
- Assist in the execution and completion of month-end duties, including account reconciliations, analysis of revenue fluctuations, and preparation of related journal entries.
- Participate in the implementation and improvements of systems and processes related to revenue recognition.
- Assist in both internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Stay updated on industry developments and changes in accounting standards, particularly those related to revenue recognition.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field. CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- 3-5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with strong expertise in revenue recognition and ASC 606.
- Excellent understanding of US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
