Description
We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the Healthcare manufacturing industry, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our financial reporting and maintaining integrity for all activities associated with our manufacturing facility. This position requires a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and solid technology and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Divisional Controller in timely reporting of all monthly financial information
• Perform month-end close activities including preparing journal entries, expense allocations, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Analyze financial reports and provide variance analysis
• Prepare and validate supporting schedules for various regulatory reporting including sales and use tax returns, unclaimed property reports, etc.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action
• Adhere to controls and processes and ensure items are correctly classified and prepared in accordance with GAAP
• Support all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
• Manage and maintain fixed assets and calculate inventory and other reserves
• Provide analysis and interpretation of manufacturing data in relation to financial performance
• Assist external auditors and tax preparation teams as needed with supporting schedules and reconciliations
• Participate in special projects as needed.
Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the Healthcare/NHS industry
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations
• Ability to handle General Ledger tasks and Journal Entries
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
• Experience with Month End Close procedures and routines
• Familiarity with Oracle or similar accounting software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
