About the position

The Sr. Accountant position at Robert Half in Mentor, Ohio, involves a variety of accounting tasks aimed at ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial operations. Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and handle month-end closing duties
  • Analyze and evaluate financial data, including costs, revenues, and financial commitments
  • Contribute to the management of financial resources, offering suggestions for cost savings and tax strategies
  • Manage and reconcile inventory in accordance with GAAP, and reconcile monthly inventory to the general ledger
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process and monitor budget variances
  • Oversee and manage physical inventories and cycle counts
  • Maintain and manage the fixed asset system, including tracking assets and calculating depreciation
  • Assist with manual check processing and electronic payments to vendors
  • Support the annual audit process and ensure compliance reporting is accurate and timely
  • Leverage skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Variance Analysis, US GAAP, Inventory Reconciliation, Budgeting, Fixed Assets, Compliance reporting, and Annual External Audit.

Requirements

  • Must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar.
  • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, and Journal Entries is essential.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Experience in Month End Close processes.
  • Knowledge of accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is necessary.
  • Familiarity with Variance Analysis and US GAAP.
  • Experience in Inventory Reconciliation is a must.
  • Proficiency in Budgeting and managing Fixed Assets.
  • Experience in Compliance reporting is required.
  • Must have participated in Annual External Audit.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification will be considered an advantage.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and dependability.
