About the position

The Sr. Accountant position at Robert Half in Cleveland, Ohio, is a critical role responsible for managing various accounting functions that contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of the company's financial statements. The role involves improving data compilation processes and supporting the Finance department in various accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Take charge of reconciling Income Statements and Balance Sheet Accounts, including Bank Reconciliations.
  • Collaborate in the completion of monthly close processes.
  • Assist in coordinating store physical inventories and reconciliation.
  • Engage in margin reporting and liaise with business to understand movements and drivers.
  • Handle the collection of data and issuance of various reports.
  • Assist in resolving Credit Card disputes.
  • Offer inventory reporting at different levels for period close and ad hoc.
  • Prepare the LIFO inventory reserve adjustment annually with support from Controller.
  • Support Census Reporting.
  • Provide closing and reporting support for all areas related to inventory.
  • Utilize financial software to maintain and update reporting templates and data inquiries.
  • Participate in accounting software updates and enhancements by preparing test schedules and completing testing for required transitions.
  • Support other members of the Finance department as needed on special projects.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of accounting.
  • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required.
  • Familiarity with General Ledger and Journal Entries is crucial.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Experience in Month End Close procedures is essential.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP accounting software is necessary.
  • Expertise in Inventory Analysis and Annual Physical Inventories is preferred.
  • Experience in Margin Analysis and Credit Card Reconciliation is desired.
  • Understanding of Last In, First Out (LIFO) inventory valuation method is required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles and practices is vital.
