About the position

The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for maintaining and controlling the general ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role involves analytical work and thorough review of financial records, contributing to the overall financial health of the company. The position is offered as a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the general ledger.
• Perform account reconciliations accurately and in a timely manner.
• Conduct bank reconciliations regularly and note discrepancies.
• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Participate in the month-end close process and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner.
• Perform tests of controls, as required by Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Work on special projects as required.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and reporting.
• Use accounting software such as Oracle, SAP and NetSuite to process business transactions.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of Account Reconciliation
• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger management
• Ability to handle Journal Entries accurately and efficiently
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for accounting purposes
• Experience with Month End Close processes
• Knowledge of NetSuite for accounting purposes
• Familiarity with Oracle accounting software
• Experience with SAP accounting software
