About the position

The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the company's financial health by overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making. This position requires a proactive professional with a strong accounting background and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Provide insights into financial performance, trends, and opportunities.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and other statutory requirements.
  • Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and systems.
  • Develop and document internal controls and procedures.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support financial planning and analysis.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the retail or manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, MS Dynamics, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
