About the position

The Senior Accountant will oversee the accounting operations of the organization, focusing on financial reporting, budget management, and compliance. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial statements and adherence to regulatory requirements, while also providing leadership and mentorship to junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Analyze financial results and provide insights and recommendations to management.
• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activities.
• Conduct variance analysis and report findings to management.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
• Lead the reconciliation of complex accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing training and support as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes and controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on financial reporting and compliance.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is a plus.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
