About the position

The Sr. Accountant will manage all accounting operations within the energy services industry, coordinating financial forecasts and overseeing multiple company accounts. This remote position allows for flexibility while ensuring effective accounting practices and compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Utilize SAGE Intact software for daily accounting tasks and reporting.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
  • Prepare and present well-documented and timely financial analyses, reports, and forecasts.
  • Work with multiple company accounts under one parent company, coordinating finances and shares.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in state and local income tax, as well as sales and use tax processes.
  • Coordinate Audit process and work with external auditors.
  • Implement new accounting systems and programs, ensuring a seamless transition and effective integration.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and financial team to optimize accounting practices.
  • Perform account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and Intacct for various accounting tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding and experience with General Ledger
  • Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries
  • Experience in performing Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations
  • Ability to handle Month End Close procedures
  • Experience with accounting software, Intacct preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality of company financial data
  • Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
