About the position

The Senior Accounting Financial Analyst is a senior staff level position within a large healthcare system, responsible for various accounting functions including financial statement analysis, GAAP compliance, and complex account reconciliations. This role involves training new hires, leading departmental projects, and representing the department in interdisciplinary meetings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial statement analysis.
• Perform GAAP analysis and investigate technical accounting issues.
• Execute complex account reconciliations for key accounts.
• Post journal entries accurately.
• Reconcile bank statements.
• Prepare budgets and compile relevant statistics.
• Learn and adapt to different accounting and billing systems.
• Create new reports in Oracle as required.
• Train new hires on systems and methods.
• Lead departmental projects and initiatives.
• Represent the department in various interdisciplinary meetings.
• Respond to audit requests and analyze budget variances.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and systems, particularly Oracle.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train and mentor new staff members.
