About the position

The Sr. Accounting Manager is a pivotal role within Byrne Dairy, responsible for ensuring financial stability and compliance with accounting standards. This position involves overseeing financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and process improvements while leveraging the Oracle ERP system. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to enhancing operational efficiency in the dairy industry.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain a best-in-class Balance sheet reconciliation.
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly balance sheet forecasts and annual balance sheet budgets.
• Identify and recommend improvements to existing processes and controls.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Support variance analysis in support of monthly financial review.
• Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements for multiple entities.
• Manage cash flow, including forecasting and monitoring cash balances.
• Lead key projects for the accounting team to drive both efficiency and accuracy of results and reporting.
• Oversee the company credit card program, policies, and procedures.
• Support dairy-related regulatory reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
• Monitor the efficiency of accounting control procedures and adherence to the company's internal control policies, providing insights and recommendations to management.
• Provide guidance and support to direct reports.
• Achieve assigned goals in safety, quality, performance, and cost.
• Comply with GMPs, SOPs, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills across various departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• CPA or Equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and financial statement work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, advanced skills/knowledge of Excel.
• Experience with accounting and finance within an ERP environment is required, Oracle Cloud is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with office management procedures and general knowledge of office equipment and troubleshooting.
