Responsibilities

  • Lead the month end close process to make sure all journal entries are completed in a timely manner and are in accordance with the accounting guidance.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations including proper supporting documentation, provide commentary for flux analysis and timely checklist completion.
  • Assist in monthly reporting of financial results and variance analysis to global finance team.
  • Oversee the Lease & Fixed Asset accounting to ensure accuracy.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and ensure chargebacks are resolved timely and aging is kept current.
  • Oversee cash/sales reconciliation and ensure sales funding is properly received and reported in bank.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations including cash reconciliations for various third party payment providers (Klarna, Paypal, Merchant Services, Authorize.net).
  • Oversee Accounts Payable to ensure all payments are made timely and accurately.
  • Partner with Logistics and Retail teams to ensure inventory is accurate.
  • Oversee and coordinate weekly cycle counts and annual stock takes in the retail stores and warehouses.
  • Reconcile and report sales taxes monthly and oversee various sales tax/compliance audits as needed.
  • Assist and coordinate with internal and external audit requests, tax consultants and other service providers with PBC requests.
  • Work cross functionally with various business partners (IT, Logistics, Wholesale, Global finance) on processes, policies, key system improvements and initiatives.
  • Partner with IT and Global finance team to transition fixed asset process from excel based to SAP Fixed asset module.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as Accounting Manager or other similar position.
  • Bachelor degree in finance or accounting.
  • Licensed CPA is a plus.
  • Previous Wholesale/Retail Accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations.
  • Knowledge of IFRS (specifically IFRS15 and IFRS16).
  • Familiar with Foreign exchange.
  • Familiar with consolidations and intercompany reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (e.g., V lookups, pivot tables) and Microsoft Word skills required.
  • Ability to work with a high volume of detailed data - strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
  • SAP Experience a plus.
  • Avalara/sales tax software experience a plus.
  • Forward-looking thinker who can articulate the need for and implement process improvements.
