About the position
The Sr. Accounting Specialist, Onboarding at Uplinq is a pivotal role within the Initialization Team, focusing on providing initial bookkeeping services to clients and ensuring a seamless transition to the maintenance bookkeeping team. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are eager to leverage their accounting expertise to enhance the fintech industry. The role involves creating and executing bookkeeping standard operating procedures (SOPs) and engaging with clients to optimize their accounting setups, all while driving continuous improvement in Uplinq's automated bookkeeping systems.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Onboarding Specialists to provide initial bookkeeping to clients.
- Create, document, and execute bookkeeping SOPs.
- Handoff clients to the maintenance bookkeeping team.
- Handle a portion of Catch Up bookkeeping.
- Engage effectively with high-value clients to optimize their account setups.
- Lead and support a team in bookkeeping tasks, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Transition companies to maintenance bookkeeping, ensuring a seamless handoff.
- Analyze and rectify bookkeeping issues, developing strategic action plans.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in cash and accrual based accounting, preferably with multi-client experience.
- Public accounting experience with small businesses for bookkeeping and financial reporting.
- Expertise in financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and U.S. GAAP compliance.
- Strong problem-solving skills for complex catch-up and clean-up projects.
- Excellent communication skills to convey intricate accounting data to clients.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related fields.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online.
