About the position

The Sr. Accounts Receivable Specialist at CalSTRS is responsible for managing the Accounts Receivable unit, which includes monitoring and collecting overpaid member accounts, excess earnings, and administrative receivables. This role involves high-level analysis of pension receivables, preparing correspondence, journal entries, and performing reconciliations. The position requires leadership skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment while ensuring effective communication with senior leadership regarding accounts receivable issues.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and collect overpaid member accounts and administrative receivables.
• Review delinquency reports and analyze the collectability of accounts.
• Prepare written correspondence and collection letters.
• Perform journal and accrual entries.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations between sub ledger and general ledger accounts.
• Act as a lead for administration of administrative accounts receivable and AR General Ledger transactions.
• Communicate with senior leadership on issues concerning accounts receivable.
• Conduct high-level analysis and action for pension receivables.
• Design, execute, test, and develop procedures related to Receivables function.

Requirements
