About the position

The Sr. Acquisition Manager at INDUS plays a crucial role in providing daily program, analytical, and acquisition management support to senior-level executives. This position is contingent and is expected to be located in Arlington, VA (Crystal City). The Sr. Acquisition Manager will be responsible for managing records, conducting business research analysis, and developing valuation strategies. This role requires a detail-oriented approach to ensure the effective management of acquisition processes and documentation, which is vital for the success of major program milestones such as Milestone B, C, and Full Rate Production (FRP) in accordance with the DoDD 5000.01, "The Defense Acquisition System." In addition to managing acquisition documentation, the Sr. Acquisition Manager will facilitate regular acquisition status review meetings and assist in the preparation and review of various acquisition-related program documents, including Acquisition Plans, Acquisition Program Baselines, Justification and Approvals (J&A), Source Selection Plans, Determinations & Findings, and Acquisition Strategies. The role also involves developing and maintaining an acquisition workflow process using tools like Microsoft Planner, managing workflow for acquisition requirements, and providing support in the development of briefings for higher leadership regarding Acquisition Milestone requirements. The position may also involve bid and proposal support as requested, along with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily program, analytical, and acquisition management support.
  • Manages records, conducts business research analysis, and develops valuation strategies.
  • Facilitates the development and coordination of regular acquisition status review meetings.
  • Assists in the creation of acquisition documentation for major program milestones such as Milestone B, C, Full Rate Production (FRP).
  • Prepares and reviews acquisition-related program documentation, including Acquisition Plans, Acquisition Program Baselines, Justification and Approvals (J&A), Source Selection Plans, Determinations & Findings, and Acquisition Strategies.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of an acquisition workflow process using tools such as Microsoft Planner.
  • Manages workflow for acquisition requirements using tools such as Microsoft Planner.
  • Provides support in the development of briefings for higher leadership pertaining to Acquisition Milestone requirements.
  • Offers bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • HS Diploma required.
  • 15 years of experience supporting a federal program office providing DoD/Acquisition support.
  • Basic computer literacy and data entry skills are required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills are required.
  • Strong time management skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment is necessary.
  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time and alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering or a related technical field is desired.
