Your primary responsibilities will include preparing regulatory filings for both small and large group rate filings, as well as Mental Health Parity filings, and securing necessary approvals. You will perform periodic pricing analysis of projected experiences by line of business and suggest appropriate pricing strategies. Additionally, you will be responsible for updating and maintaining the rating systems for both small and large groups, and pricing new products and/or plan designs using our proprietary medical and pharmacy benefit pricing tools. Competitive analysis will also be a key part of your role, where you will gather and analyze rate and plan information for primary competitors. Supporting the growth of large groups by providing timely financial outlooks and effectively communicating with state regulators and matrix partners will be essential to your success in this position. Responsibilities

  • Prepare small and large group rate filings and Mental Health Parity filings, securing necessary approvals.
  • Perform periodic analysis of projected experience by line of business and suggest appropriate pricing strategies.
  • Update and maintain the rating systems for both small group and large group.
  • Perform pricing of new products and/or plan designs using proprietary medical and pharmacy benefit pricing tools.
  • Gather and analyze rate and plan information for primary competitors.
  • Support the growth of large group by providing timely financial outlooks.
  • Communicate effectively with state regulators and matrix partners, representing actuarial interests.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 2 or more actuarial exams passed
  • 2+ years of actuarial experience
  • Experience communicating technical information to matrix partners (Finance, Business)
  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency in MS Excel

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ACA pricing and rate filling
  • Experience in engaging with external clients (DOI)
  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with SQL or similar programming language
  • Proven good communication/presentation skills
  • Proven excellent project management and prioritization skills
