About the position

As a Sr Actuarial Analyst in the Actuarial Leadership Development Program (ALDP) at UnitedHealth Group, you will play a crucial role in collaborating on complex actuarial projects that are strategically important to the company's mission of improving health care. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. and involves setting monthly reserves for various Medicare products, supporting appointed actuaries, and participating in process improvements. You will be recognized for your performance and have opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Set monthly Reserves for a variety of Medicare products (Medical, Dental, Part-D Rx, Med Supp)
  • Assist and support Appointed Actuaries in preparation of Actuarial Opinion Memorandums
  • Research claim trends
  • Plan and execute on process improvements
  • Participate in the Actuarial Leadership Development Program

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Near ASA or ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) designation
  • 2+ years of Actuarial experience
  • Advanced or higher level of proficiency with Excel

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with actuarial reserving
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicare Advantage
  • Basic or higher level of proficiency with SQL, SAS, VBA and / or R
