About the position

The Senior Actuarial Analyst at Point32Health will play a crucial role in supporting Medicare Part C Pricing work, focusing on pricing, rate filing development, strategic analysis, and collaboration with various business partners. This position is designed for individuals with a strong understanding of the health insurance industry and proficiency in Excel and statistical modeling, and it offers opportunities for professional growth through the Actuarial Student Program.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation, analysis, and submission of Medicare Advantage bids, ensuring compliance with CMS regulations.
  • Maintain current models to assist with the bid pricing process and develop new models as needed.
  • Create code to pull in data needed for various models.
  • Validate and audit the data to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with business partners, including finance and product development, to support strategic decisions.
  • Work on projects focused on the Medicare Preferred population to provide competitively priced Medicare products.

Requirements

  • College degree required
  • 4+ years of experience in actuarial analysis
  • 3+ actuarial exams completed
  • Demonstrated experience in analytic project design and building complex technical applications
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and statistical packages such as SAS
  • Solid understanding of SQL is a plus
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate planning and review sessions
  • Able to operate in a matrix environment and implement actuarial standards
  • Mentoring and training skills for junior staff
  • Ability to manage time effectively and communicate progress to management.
