About the position

The Sr Actuarial Analyst will leverage mathematical, statistical, and business principles to support healthcare economics and financial forecasting activities. This role emphasizes performance evaluations for existing and proposed initiatives within the Cost of Care portfolio, collaborating with a team of actuaries to ensure a coordinated approach to health program actuarial components. The analyst will conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis to measure savings for cost containment initiatives and manage documentation of portfolio performance over time.

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and business principles to support healthcare economics and financial forecasting activities.
  • Focus on performance evaluations for existing initiatives and newly proposed initiatives across various subject areas.
  • Work under minimal supervision with a team of actuaries to coordinate actuarial components of health programs.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of data to support savings measurements for cost containment initiatives.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze data from various sources including internal colleagues, databases, and external partners.
  • Develop and distribute established reports to stakeholders and respond to inquiries regarding results.
  • Support records management and documentation of Cost of Care portfolio performance over time.
  • Plan, implement, manage, and contribute to additional ad hoc projects of moderate to high complexity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in an analytic field.
  • 2-6 years of relevant actuarial experience, with related experience considered.
  • Reasonable exam and module progress towards the ASA designation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PPT, Word, etc.) and SQL.

Nice-to-haves

  • Mastery of SQL-based data queries and data management.
  • Experience with data visualization applications such as Power-BI and Tableau.
  • Experience creating and presenting external, client-facing materials and reports.
